30 Oct WWE star Shayna Baszler on the art of being a wrestling villain
WWE celebrity Shayna Baszler says the key to being a wrestling villain that is fantastic is just not caring what other folks think.
Baszler, the champion of a two-time NXT women, has firmly established herself as one of the best heels in the wrestling business today and its seemingly a matter of time until she moves into Raw or SmackDown.
The 39-year-old lifted the lid as abad man in an interview with Sky Sports.
I think not caring, she explained. I know that sounds ridiculous but Ronda (Rousey) was so awesome in MMA and if she dropped the fallout she had with all the lovers, it disturbs me in some type of way.
So when it comes to wrestling that stuff does not bother me personally and I believe thats what upsets people. Folks today crave being the guy and the protagonist and I do not crave that, I just need to be the very ideal.
I have desensitised to all of that I think, and in addition, it helps that the roster is full of quite likeable individuals. It has been the ideal mix of me not fond and everybody else
Baszler is one of MMA along with Ronda Rousey – who is currently inactive in WWE – and Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, who are at NXTs self-styled Four Horsewomen.
A match against the WWE Four Horsewomen – Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, Bayley Flair – has been suggested but Baszler states 1 group has the right to really call themselves a faction.
We have never denied that theyre fantastic wrestlers and laid the preparation, particularly at NXT, and have been a large portion of their womens evolution, she explained.
But we are the team. We are a real team. They are four wrestlers that are amazing but we are the team and weve never had a rift.
You can not call 11 random football players the Minnesota Vikings, they are not the team. Were a group and we have been since the four of us met.
