29 Oct Manchester Thunder re-sign Eleanor Cardwell for 2020 Superleague season
Superleague champions Manchester Thunder have re-signed the Eleanor Cardwell for the 2020 season of England.
This past year, the 24-year-old shot, who re-joined Thunder from Severn Stars, has signed a two-year deal at the club rose through the youth ranks.
Cardwell follows fellow returning new addition Ashleigh Neal and Kathryn Turner and gamers Laura Malcolm because Thunder aim their fourth Superleague title.
“I’m so excited for this coming year and also to determine how we could build on the last and try and recover the Superleague title,” Cardwell said.
Cardwell is looking forward to the British Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship, featuring the eight best teams, returns to London’s Copper Box Arena .
“First of all we have obtained the Fast5 this autumn during which we’ll have the ability to flaunt our flair and we won last year’s Superleague title.”
New England head coach Jess Thirlby called Cardwell, who came on inside their 25-player full time squad, against Wasps .
“What an end to this 2019 year from Eleanor since she showed beyond any doubt just how integral she was into our Championship-winning team,” Thunder’s manager of netball Karen Greig added.
“She climbed throughout the season for us developed key partnerships within the assaulting unit.
“I’m so pleased to have such an influential and calm key time player back and excited about building together with her to the coming year”
